Our Organising Framework

How we create change

At TIE to Wellness, we believe belonging creates the foundation for wellbeing, opportunity, participation, and lasting change.

The TIE Belonging Framework

Belonging Through Knowledge

We learn, listen, and build understanding rooted in real community experience. Through research, awareness, financial literacy, health information, and cultural competence, we equip women and communities with what they need to navigate, decide, and lead.

Belonging Through Care

We create spaces where women feel seen, supported, and connected. Compassion, inclusion, safety, and community are not add-ons to our work. They are the work.

Belonging Through Action

We work with communities and partners to turn insight into meaningful change. Through advocacy, leadership, programmes, and partnership, we move from conversation to impact.

Where Knowledge, Care and Action meet: Belonging.
Connection · Inclusion · Dignity · Wellbeing · Opportunity

This framework shapes how we listen, learn, act, and influence, because every woman deserves to feel seen, supported, and a genuine sense of belonging.

What We Work On

We work on the things that shape women's lives.

Whatever brings you to TIE to Wellness, there is a place for you here. When women are supported, families and communities are stronger.

NHS Partnership Programme

Screen & Thrive

Screen and Thrive community session
🏥 Supported by NHS Warrington

This is the TIE Belonging Framework in action.

Our Flagship Community Health Equity Programme

Too many women from Black African and Caribbean communities are missing out on breast screening. Not because they do not care about their health, but because existing outreach has not always reached them in a way that feels safe, culturally familiar, or genuinely for them.

Screen and Thrive is TIE to Wellness's response to that gap.

Developed in partnership with NHS and community partners in Warrington, Screen and Thrive reaches Black African and Caribbean women where they are, in language they recognise, through workers who understand their lives.

This is not a leaflet drop. This is relationship-led, culturally responsive outreach that builds trust before it builds anything else.

Why It Matters

One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Yet many women from Black African and Caribbean communities continue to face barriers to screening and early detection. Screen and Thrive exists to help close that gap, one woman at a time.

"Our goal is simple: to ensure that every woman has the information, confidence, and support she needs to make informed choices about her health."

Breast screening through this programme is completely free on the NHS. You do not need a GP referral to contact us.

Expertise and Training

Cultural Competence and Community Insight

Helping organisations better understand, engage, and work alongside ethnically diverse communities.

Cultural competence training

Understanding a community and genuinely engaging with it are two different things. Many organisations work hard to be inclusive. But without the right knowledge, tools, and relationships, even well-intentioned work can miss the mark.

Who This Is For

We work with organisations across the public, private, voluntary, and community sectors to help them better understand, engage, and work alongside ethnically diverse communities.

What We Offer
Cultural competence training and workshops tailored to your organisation.
Community insight, consultation, and co-production support.
Facilitated focus groups and roundtable discussions.
Speaking engagements, presenting, and advisory support.
Bespoke partnership development for organisations working in diverse communities.

This is not generic diversity training. TIE to Wellness brings over ten years of qualitative health and social research, community engagement, and lived experience work alongside Black African and ethnically diverse communities in Warrington, across the North West, and through national partnerships and networks. We do not just teach cultural competence. We practise it every day.

Collaboration and Partnership

We believe the best solutions are built together.

Partnership and collaboration

TIE to Wellness is actively seeking partnerships with organisations that share our commitment to equity, belonging, and community-led change. We are not looking for transactional relationships. We are looking for genuine collaboration rooted in shared values, community voice, and mutual accountability.

What We Bring
Trusted relationships with Black African, Caribbean, and ethnically diverse communities.
Community insight, engagement expertise, and lived experience perspectives.
Experience in research, co-production, cultural competence, and partnership working.
Community-led approaches that build trust, participation, and meaningful impact.
The TIE Belonging Framework: Belonging Through Knowledge, Care and Action.

We start by listening. We build on community insight. We co-design solutions rather than delivering predetermined programmes. And we measure success not just by outputs, but by whether communities feel more seen, more supported, and more connected as a result.

This is not a leaflet-drop approach to partnership. This is relationship-led, community-rooted collaboration that builds trust before it builds anything else.

Who We Work With
Public sector organisations
NHS and healthcare partners
Charities and community organisations
Educational institutions and researchers
Private sector organisations
Funders investing in community-led change

About and Leadership

Our Story Began With a Pattern, Not a Business Plan.

Over more than ten years of working alongside Black African, Caribbean, migrant, and ethnically diverse communities, our founder, Fola Olurin, noticed something repeatedly.

The women who truly thrived were not always those with the most support. They were the ones who felt seen, valued, connected, and a genuine sense of belonging.

That observation became a question. That question became TIE to Wellness.

Today, TIE to Wellness creates pathways to belonging, wellbeing, opportunity, and participation through community engagement, community-rooted research, strategic partnerships, advocacy, and action, guided by our organising framework: Belonging Through Knowledge, Care and Action.

Belonging Through Knowledge: We learn, listen, and build understanding rooted in real community experience.

Belonging Through Care: We create spaces where women feel safe, seen, and genuinely supported.

Belonging Through Action: We work with partners and communities to turn insight into lasting change.
